Niansheng Tang
Niansheng Tang is a professor of statistics, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, and Vice-chancellor at Yunnan University, China. He was elected as a Yangtze River Scholars Distinguished Professor in 2013, member of the International Statistical Institute in 2016, member of the Board of Directors of the International Chinese Statistical Association (ICSA) in 2018, and a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics in 2021. He received the ICSA Outstanding Service Award in 2018 and the National Science Foundation Award for Distinguished Young Scholars of China in 2012. He is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Statistics and Its Interface, and the Journal of Systems Science and Complexity. He is also a field editor for Communications in Mathematics and Statistics. His research interests include Bayesian statistics, missing data analysis, variable selection, high-dimensional data analysis, data science, machine learning, and big data. He has published more than 220 research papers and authored seven books.
