Tahir Mumtaz Awan
Tahir Mumtaz Awan holds a Ph.D. in marketing from the Business School of Sun Yat-sen University (中山大学管理学院). He holds the positions of head of the China Study Centre and assistant professor of marketing at COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan. He is also an adjunct associate professor at the School of Business Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, and a senior research fellow at the Center of Ethnology and Anthropology, Hunan Normal University, Changsha City, Hunan Province, Peoples Republic of China, and a researcher at the World Sinology Center, Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing, Peoples Republic of China. Dr. Awan also serves the United National Development Programme (UNDP) as a national expert (Pakistan) for cross-cutting practices in the National Experts Program. He trained Moscow School of Management, SKOLKOVO EMBA students in Shenzhen, China, twice and is a regular member of the global business exposure visits team of various business schools in the People\'s Republic of China. He was a Youth of Excellence Fellow for one year in the China Studies Program hosted by the Ministry of Education, People\'s Republic of China at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, People\'s Republic of China. He was also a United Nations Systems Staff College Fellow in Big Data for Sustainable Development. He was awarded research productivity awards by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and Common Ground Publishing of the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, USA. He was also awarded a scholarship for higher studies by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan to support his Ph.D. from the People\'s Republic of China. He delivered multiple talks, training, and keynotes about the Belt & Road Initiative, the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor, marketing in developing countries, big data, cryptocurrencies, and so forth. He has written nearly 50 academic articles and 12 book chapters and has edited five books. He serves various journals as a member of the editorial team. Dr. Awan aims to help improve the people-to-people relationships among the Asia and South African region and Chinese citizens, with youth development for better placement opportunities. To realize this aim he is currently providing hands-on experience to Pakistani youth in learning about China and helping them become the ultimate choice of Chinese firms working in Pakistan. Similarly, he is working with African universities to bring more collaborative initiatives to the Asian and African regions. He also runs a Pak-China Youth Club from his China Study Centre in Pakistan and established an African Centre for Business Studies at a South African university.
