Joana Campos
Joana Campos has 10 years of experience (UCIBIO@REQUIMTE) in antimicrobial resistance, particularly in the detection, genomic epidemiology, and ecology of MDR bacteria. Joana completed her PhD (2018) focusing on high-risk Salmonella clone detection using high-throughput omics techniques. In 2019 (I3S), Joana dedicated herself to research in the fields of the human microbiome, bioinformatics, and immunology. In 2022, she transitioned to the biotechnology research sector at a cosmetic/pharmaceutical company. Currently, Joana is working as a researcher for the WASTELESS project (funded by the EU, and coordinated by UTAD). Additionally, she was selected to be part of EFSA scientific and technical support panels and working groups. Joana has published 26 papers (h-index = 16, May 2024), received 14 awards, and participated in 15 competitive funding projects.
