In line with the Open Science principles, IntechOpen Journals supports research transparency at various stages including openly sharing code and data in published manuscripts. Authors are encouraged to include all available data that supports the research findings and their replication through:
All data should be reported in compliance with local/national legislation and ethical reporting. Special care should be devoted to ensuring that sharing the data from studies with human participants complies with the local data protection laws, that is shared in accordance with participant consent, and that it does not compromise participant privacy.
All manuscripts submitting to IntechOpen Journals should contain Data Availability Statement, regardless whether the authors have made the source data available or not. If the data is available, the Data Availability Statement should contain some form of persistent identifier for all data, including a name of the repository, digital object identifier (DOI), accession numbers or codes, and other.
The authors should list any legal, ethical or privacy issues that prevent them from opening and sharing their data in the Data Availability Statement.
Authors whose data are under mandates for submission to public repositories should follow the guidelines for choosing an appropriate repository. The submitting data should follow the FAIR principles - be findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable.
IntechOpen offers authors the integrated workflow for submitting their source data in figshare repository upon the manuscript submission.
